What is Burled or Spalted wood?
Burled is a term used to describe markings caused when a tree experiences stress, injury, or disease. Spalted is a term used when a tree has infected by Fungi creating black lines. Wood featuring these characteristics is not as common and creates an even more unique finish!
What determines your prices?
Our prices are carefully calculated based off the type of wood used (rare wood costs more) and the style (turned jars or vases take significantly longer and require more practice and education than bowls or plates). Other things that effect price is size, if resin is used, or if one of our engraving machines are used.
Please remember we make everything by hand and use reclaimed materials as much as we can! If you’re on a budget and don’t see something in your budget reach out to see if we can come up with a solution!
